Written as Q & A, it contains a list of all known problems with the demo at this time. If you do not see your problem listed, please e-mail or call our technical support line mentioned above. This FAQ does not contain any gameplay related strategies, secrets or cheat codes. This FAQ will be periodically updated with new issues as they are found or fixed. FAQ VERSION HISTORY ----------------------- 12.20.2004 creation date MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ----------------------- If you are experience problems running the demo, please make sure you meet the minimum requirements list below. Make sure to check video card section to see if your card is compatible with BloodRayne 2. Windows 98/ME/2000/XP 1Ghz processor 256MB RAM 200MB virtual memory (swap file) 4x CD-ROM 600MB free hard disc space 100% DirectX 8.1 compatible video card or higher DirectX compliant sound card Already installed DirectX 8.1 or higher VIDEO CARDS (Supported / Non supported / Reported Problems) **BloodRayne 2 requires a video card that supports hardware transform and lighting. If the card does not have hardware T&L, you will receive a DirectX error message and the game will not run. Check to see if your video card is supported. Performance Issues 1] INSTALL AND UNINSTALL PROBLEMS Q: During the install process I can’t change the destination location or drive letter. A: Unfortunately this was an oversight with the demo. The full version will allow users to install the game into any folder and hard drive location. 2] VIDEO, DIRECTX AND 3D VIDEO CARD RELATED ISSUES Q: Does the BloodRayne 2 demo support 1280x1024? A: The demo does not but there will be support for this resolution in the full version. Q: I’m having problems running the game on a laptop with Nvidia Geforce4 440 Go 64M. A: We are currently investigating the problem. Please continue to check our website for updates to the FAQ about this issue. Q: I can’t see anything (very dark or pitch black) but can hear the game running. A: Users with Nvidia Quadro NVS, GeForce 2 GTS and GeForce 4 MX series are experiencing this problem. We are currently investigating the cause. Please continue to check our website for updates to the FAQ about this issue. Q: I’m receiving a DirectX error message using GeForce 2 GTS, GeForce 4 MX 420 and 440. A: If you are experiencing a very dark or pitch black screen see we are currently investigating this problem. If you are experiencing an error message, it was discovered the demo runs properly using the Detonator v30.82 but crashes with the following error message using the latest Detonator v41.09 drivers. DirectX Error Code 8876086A Does not support queried technique We are currently investigating the problem and will update this FAQ sheet with the results. Q: I receive the following DirectX error message when running the demo: “DirectX8 Driver Error Cannot create hardware vertex processing device. Please check with your hardware manufacturer to make sure your video card indeed has hardware vertex processing". A: This error message occurs when using a video card that does not support hardware transformation and lighting. Unfortunately there is no way around this issue unless you upgrade your video card. 3] SOUND CARD AND SOUND RELATED ISSUES Nothing to report 4] GAMEPAD SUPPORT Q: I can’t assign all button to the gamepad. A: BloodRayne 2 requires gamepads that have two analog sticks in addition to a digital pad with shoulder buttons. If you wish to play using a gamepad, this will be required for the demo and the full version. There are gamepads on the market that support these functions. 5] PERFORMANCE ISSUES Q: The game says that I have less than 200MB of Virtual Memory free. How do I fix this so that BloodRayne 2 runs best? A: Please note that in most circumstances users should not have to adjust this option and it’s best to allow Windows to manage virtual memory. If you must make a change Windows 98/ME users can select Control Panel, then System, then Performance, then Virtual Memory. Under Windows 2000/XP select Control Panel, then System, then Advance, then Performance Options, then under Virtual memory choose Change, then adjust the paging file size. Q: The game gives me an error message saying that I’m out of memory. A: You need more virtual memory. See previous Q&A for how to change your virtual memory settings.
